Full text: 58 THE DIARY OF ADOLPHUS GAETZ Thursday, 13th,—Died this morning Mrs. Charlotte Rudolf widow of the late John Christopher Rudolf, aged 75 years. Saturday, 22nd,—Mrs. Margaret Kaulbach, formerly wife of Nathaniel Kaulbach, took her departure for Lehave this morning on her way to Bos- ton, United States. Nathl. Kaulbach obtained a divorce from his wife Mar- garet in consequence of improper conduct on her part, no alternative there- fore was left her but to proceed to some foreign land, where she would be unknown, and earn herself a living. October, 1860 Tuesday, 30th,—Ann Fink, a notorious character, daughter of the late John Fink, was committed to Jail this evening for threatening to burn the house of her late father, which has fallen into other hands by purchase. November, 1860 Tuesday, 6th,—That terrible disease, which has been so long lingering amongst us, the "Diptheria", still commits its ravages; a daughter of Wm. Biggs having been carried to the grave yard this afternoon, who died of that disease. December, 1860 Wednesd. 5th,—Married by Revd. H. M. Spike64 at Upper Dublin, Le- have, Mr. William A. Metzler, of this town, to Elizabeth Romkey of New Dublin. Monday, 17th,—Died this afternoon at 3 O'clock, Francis B. Anderson, blacksmith, son of John Anderson, aged 31 years. Thursday, 20th,—Attended the funeral of the late Francis B. Ander- son this afternoon, a large number of persons were in attendance. Sunday, 30th,—This being the last Sunday in the year an examination of the St. John's Church Sunday School took place this afternoon. There were 98 children and 17 Teachers present, besides a goodly number of vis- itors. The names of Teachers, and other office bearers belonging to the School, and in attendance to day was as follows, Revd. H. L. Owen, Recto'r; Adolphus Gaetz, Superintendent; Simeon Fink, Librarian; 1st Class, Edwin Kaulbach, Sherifs son; 2nd Class, William Townshend, son of Anthony; 3rd Class, Henry R. Gaetz, my son; 4th Class, Henry Kaulbach, son of Joshua; 5th Class, Willm. Owen, son of Daniel Owen; 6th Class, Henry Solomon, son of Geo. T. Solomon; 7th Class, Stephen Fink, son of John Fink; 8th Class, Joseph Rudolf, son of J. Joseph Rudolf.
